Hello! I’m a sophomore at Michigan State University majoring in Film Studies and double minoring in Graphic Design and Fiction Filmmaking. Since taking my first film studies class in high school, I have developed a passion for all things film. With this passion came the typical film student need to express my opinion with anybody willing, or unwilling, to listen. Thus, Lyskawa Log was born, along with other creative endeavors, like my film analysis YouTube channel. However, I have passions outside of film that I find just as interesting to explore and analyze. Music, social relations, and game development are all topics that I find myself coming back to, craving to learn more about, and wanting to express my opinions on. I believe that all art and media deserves to be analyzed and engaged with critically, and this blog will help me do just that. Hopefully it motivates others to do the same!

Hello all! My name is Jake Lyskawa, and I’m a third year student at Michigan State University majoring in Journalism with minors in Sports Journalism, Film Studies, and Graphic Design. As you can tell, my brother and I have very similar interests. I love talking about, ranking, and analyzing media like movies, music, books, and video games. On the other hand, I’m also very passionate about sports. I follow most major sports at the professional and collegiate levels, with my favorites being basketball, baseball, and running. I hope to one day talk about any of these topics for a newspaper, magazine, podcast, or other platform, and I feel like the Lyskawa Log is a great place to gain experience for that.
